Why the Women’s Self Defense Safety Kit is Your Best Self Defense

images (5)Women are becoming more and more aware that they should carry some kind of personal defense to ward off possible attackers. Thieves and muggers are getting increasingly brave and now don’t limit their criminal activities to evenings.

We are reading more and more stories about attacks taking place in broad daylight. The opportunist thief deliberately chooses crowded places where he can make his escape into the crowds.

These stories worried Emma. Self defense for women is becoming more of an issue. She didn’t want to end up as another statistic, but wasn’t sure what was the best item of self protection to suit her as she was a small and slightly built girl.

The internet solved her problem. She purchased a complete women’s self defense safety kit. She got an instructional DVD to show her how her small size could be used to her advantage in an assault situation, a stun gun that looked exactly like a cell phone, an ordinary looking key ring that emitted a high pitched alarm and light, with a pocket sized pepper spray and a book that gave tips for self defense for women.

Emma was very happy with her purchase and just felt safer just having Women’s Safety Kit [http://www.aaa-safetyfirst.com/womenkit.htm] in her possession. She decided that from then on when she was out and about, she’d have her purse over her left shoulder, and hold the fake cell phone in her right hand in her pocket. As well as having the others in her pocket if should she need them.

She practiced the self defense techniques diligently and felt like a different women, more empowered. It didn’t take long for Emma to put her practice to good use.

Emma was walking through the park one lunchtime when she felt a sharp tug on her purse. She spun around pulling the stun gun from her pocket and zapped the youth in the neck. As he released the grip on her purse she fired of a burst of pepper spray into his eyes.

He was completely disorientated and to finish things off Emma activated her alarm. Within seconds she was surrounded by people and the guy was well restrained until the police arrived. Emma was shaken but her adrenalin was buzzing.

Self-Defense – Safety Tips For Personal Protection

It is not that women are more adventuresome necessarily or that they take more risks with their lives. That is intuitively not correct. Women tend to be much more conservative than men in their approach to just about everything. Nonetheless, they are the targets of violence so much more often than men that it makes you wonder.

In this article we are going to outline some safety tips for women for their personal protection and personal safety. These tips, if followed, will help prevent an assault in the vast majority of cases.

Develop a sense of awareness. If you are in a parking lot, for example, where many assaults on women occur pay attention to your surroundings. Be leery of strangers approaching you. An inordinate number of assaults occur in parking lots because women are distracted by a variety of issues.

Avoid areas where lighting is bad to include stairwells in office buildings and apartment complexes. Parking lots can also fall into that category. It’s great that you want to get some exercise, but a stairwell can be a dangerous place.

If you are assaulted, learn how to fight dirty. There are no points for style. When you’re fighting for your life, an eye gouge or a kick to the groin is not pretty, but all that matters is that you get away from an assailant.

Carry and know how to use a self-defense product. Whether it’s a panic alarm, stun gun, pepper spray or baton, they all have their place and are all effective at providing personal safety and personal protection. Self-defense products can disable an assailant for as long as 45 minutes allowing you time to escape a dangerous situation.images-4

Respond quickly to an attack. The outcome of an assault is frequently decided in the first 10 seconds. When you respond to an assault, do so quickly and forcefully. Believe it or not, practicing how to react to an emergency assault situation can mean the difference of five or ten seconds. For example, you don’t want to learn how to work your stun gun when somebody’s got his arm around your neck.

Avoid looking like a victim. There is a reason why some women are attacked and others are not. Assailants seem to have a sense of who is vulnerable by looking at their body language.

Trust your instincts. Women have an amazing instinctual sense of danger. Learn how to trust those feelings and react appropriately.

If you follow these safety tips that are especially for women, you will go a long ways towards enhancing your personal safety and personal protection.

Women’s Self Defense: Parking Lot Safety

Everyday we hear about people being attacked, mugged, or assaulted – especially women. One of the top five places for assaults is parking lots. It is the perfect setting for a predator to search for a target due to dim lighting, multiple places to hide and distracted potential victims. To lessen the possibility that you could become a victim of an assault, here are a few safety tips:

First, ALWAYS MAKE SURE TO HAVE YOUR KEYS IN HAND WHEN LEAVING A BUILDING. Targets are often distracted and unaware of their surroundings. Walking through a parking lot or garage with your head down, or rummaging through a bag for your keys allows a predator time to single you out.images-2

Second, REMEMBER WHERE YOU PARKED YOUR CAR. Even if you have to write it on your hand, it is a bad idea to be seen wandering around the parking lot looking for it. The longer you are there, the greater the chances are that you will be attacked.

Third, HAVE YOUR KEYS PREPARED AS A WEAPON. You do this by placing the longest key in your hand with key base resting in your palm and stem jutting out between your second and third fingers. Make a fist around the base to hold it secure. This allows the key to be used as a defense tool that could puncture an eye if necessary.

Fourth, CHECK YOUR CAR AND SURROUNDINGS. Always check the backseat and any areas around your car before you get in it. You never know where someone may be hiding. If you notice you are parked between or next to a large vehicle such as a van or SUV, use another door to enter the vehicle or even a hatch door if available. You make look silly but you will be safe.
